Welcome to the Graduate School

The College’s Graduate school offers a range of specialist programmes to further your career. Our programmes are designed to satisfy the growing international demand for veterinary scientists and related professionals.

Whilst some programmes require a first degree in veterinary medicine – others are open to graduates from general science disciplines, whilst our research programme addresses basic and clinical problems in the biosciences, with applications in veterinary and human medicine.

Specialist programmes to further your career

If you are looking to develop a career in veterinary or biomedical sciences our Masters programmes and Diploma courses may be for you.
Our programmes are taught by internationally renowned staff and develop skills in particular areas. Programmes are either full-time or distance learning to suit your needs.

PhD Studentships

Educating specialists who are sought after as experts

The PhD Studentships programme is three-four years full-time, based in London and Hertfordshire. The RVC currently has around 130 students.
Students are admitted to a research group under one of the following areas:

  • Animal Welfare
  • Infection and Immunity
  • Lifestyle
  • Live Centre
  • Reproduction and Development

Clinical Training Scholarships (Internships & Residencies)

Training clinical experts

Student scholarships are offered for both one-year junior clinical training scholars (internships) and three-year senior clinical training scholars (residencies). Specific subject areas vary year-on-year.

Distance Learning (Masters/PG Diplomas & Short Courses)

Keeping knowledge current

Studying through Distance Learning provides an attractive option for those with work, family or financial constraints, to gain a London University qualification without coming to London.
Due to popular demand, the RVC runs a series of short courses to give an overview of particular subject areas.
