  1. Are ECTS credits applicable to this MSc?
91 ECTS credits will be awarded to the full MSc, with a breakdown of 13 ECTS credits awarded per module.

  2. I am interested in applying for the MSc and I am registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS). I would like to know whether the RCVS registration document would be a substitute for the degree certificate as I would rather not post the original in case it should be mislaid.
If you are applying for either the MSc or Postgraduate Diploma, the RCVS certificate will not be considered a substitute, as this document does not include the date that the award was obtained. However, the RCVS certificate will be considered a substitute if you are applying for one of the distance learning 35-hour or 50-hour individual modules.
If you feel uncomfortable in posting your original document to us, you can request that your Awarding Institution write a letter to the Admissions Department confirming both the award obtained and date.

  3. I am very worried about my original document becoming mislaid in the post, is there another way I can provide this information to the Admissions Department?
If you are based in the UK, you are welcome to visit the Admissions Department at the University of London with your original documents and they will be pleased to take photocopies for you.
Copies can be verified by either the Awarding Institution or by the Local British Council.

  4. I would like to understand more about the actual subjects covered in each module before I apply. Can this information be made available beforehand?
The Distance Learning Course Administrator would be pleased to send you further information and answer any specific queries you may have. Please e-mail DLP@rvc.ac.uk.

  5. I am extremely interested in applying for the MSc this year, but I am worried because the deadline of 1st November has now passed. Does this mean I will have to wait another year to apply?
The Distance Learning Course Administrator will have specific information concerning the final close for applications. Please e-mail DLP@rvc.ac.uk.
Once you apply and, your registration has been accepted, your offer will be valid for two years, therefore you may wish to consider applying at this time, even though the deadline may have closed for this year.

  6. The MSc is of great interest to me, but I am concerned that my qualifications do not meet all of the entry requirements. What can you advise please, as I really do not want to complete the application form if it’s a waste of time?
You may contact the Distance Learning Course Administrator by e-mailing DLP@rvc.ac.uk and provide details of both your qualifications and work experience obtained, it may be that you could be advised to initially commence with an individual module, with a view to progressing to further studies at a later date.

  7. I am hoping to progress to the full Masters programme once I have passed the Postgraduate Diploma. Is this possible?
Many of our students choose to commence their studies with either a 240-hour individual module or Postgraduate Diploma and then progress to the MSc at a later date. As long as you have successfully passed the appropriate exams, this is easily implemented without lots of further form completion.

  8. The MSc is a big financial commitment and even though I am extremely interested in studying with you, I would like to view the course materials and perhaps have some communication with the Course Director. Would this be possible please?
We fully appreciate both the time and financial implications and, we will do all we can, to provide as much information as possible prior to application. We would be happy to arrange a telephone appointment with the Course Director, or even face-to-face meeting and answer any queries you may have. Please e-mail the Distance Learning Course Administrator DLP@rvc.ac.uk to discuss.
