UK’s largest veterinary school joins i10

Businesses can now easily access the world-class expertise and facilities of the Royal Veterinary College (RVC) via i10, the service set up to promote links between commerce and universities.
The RVC can offer cutting edge resources and research to companies with interests in zoology, pharmacology, and veterinary and human medicines. The college is home to a wealth of knowledge that can be applied to commercial ventures. For instance, the recently established Animal Welfare Unit conducts research into reducing stress in farm animals and the college’s affiliated company VetCell Bioscience Ltd develops new technologies for veterinary use. RVC also owns and runs an incubator for life science companies.
Patricia Latter, Head of Business Development at the Royal Veterinary College, said: “We’re very happy to be joining the universities and colleges of i10. This relationship will raise our profile in the Eastern region and further our interests in the business community, making companies aware of the range of services, resources and expertise we can offer them.”
i10 acts as a central point of contact for businesses interested in finding out how they can benefit from the wealth of expertise, innovation and research services at universities and colleges in the East of England. The RVC, with campuses in central London and Hertfordshire, will now be promoted by the organisation alongside institutions such as University of Cambridge and the University of East Anglia.
Jonathan Hogg, Head of Marketing and Business at i10, said: “i10 can operate most effectively by offering the widest portfolio of skills and specialisms possible to businesses, so it’s great that we can now count the Royal Veterinary College as one of our members. We hope to be as much an asset to the RVC as I’m sure they will be to us.”
