Most full-time home UK undergraduates who start their course in 2012-13 will be eligible to apply for a Maintenance Grant of up to £3,250.

Am I eligible?
All new home undergraduate students beginning their course in 2012 will be eligible to apply for this grant.
Students who have previously undertaken a first degree will not be eligible to apply for this Maintenance Grant.
How is the grant assessed?
The grant is worth up to £3,250 and is income assessed by Student Finance England.
The income assessment thresholds have been set by the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills (BIS) www.bis.gov.uk/studentfinance

How will the grant be paid to me (the student)?
Grants will be payable in three instalments one at the start of each term together with your Maintenance Loan.

Important Note for previous study students
The Department for Business, Innovation & Skills (DBIS) state that both new and existing undergraduate students who have previously completed an honours degree at a UK or overseas institution will not be eligible for a Tuition Fees Loan or for the Maintenance Grant.
In addition, new students who have previously completed an honours degree will also be ineligible for a Maintenance Loan, unless they are undertaking a course leading to a professional qualification in medicine or dentistry, or are in receipt of a means-tested NHS Bursary.
