Here you will find details of potential financial support options from outside the RVC. This is designed to be a starting point for students wishing to secure awards from grant making organisations. We also recommend using the internet and your local library to identify further resources.
Educational Grants and Charities
You might be surprised at the number of charities and organisations there are that have a remit to provide grants to assist students who are in financial hardship or who are simply looking for help towards books, equipment and course costs.

Charitable Organisations
Below are details of some charitable organisations that are known specifically to the RVC. Please look at the individual websites for details of eligibility, deadlines, etc.
Richard Stapley Educational Grant
Provides financial assistance for postgraduate students studying for higher degrees or degrees in medicine, dentistry or veterinary science at a university in the United Kingdom.
Awards are competitive and made on the basis of academic merit and financial need. All grants are awarded for a full year of academic study and for one year only. Applicants for full time postgraduate degree courses may be supported up to a maximum of three years but new applications have to be submitted each year - www.stapleytrust.org
The Digglers Charitable Trust
The details of the bursary scheme can be found on the website (under bursaries) but essentially the charity allows students to collect monies on behalf of the charity which then undertakes to pass it on to the veterinary faculty to help pay undergraduate fees. The charity also aims to pass on the Gift Aid associated with the donations. The charity, if accumulated funds allow, plans to make grants available for these students - www.thedigglers.co.uk

The Royal Caledonian Schools Trust
Aim to help applicants reach their educational potential through grants for the child(ren) of a Scot who has served or is serving in the Armed Forces, and the child(ren) of a poor Scot living in the London area (within the M25) - www.rcst.org.uk
