HESA

As a Higher Education Institute, the College is required to return data annually on staff to the Higher Education Statistical Agency (HESA).

HESA was set up in 1993 following a Government White Paper to act as the central source for higher education statistics and the College has a legal requirement to produce statistical data for submission to them. The data returned to HESA is anonymised as each member of staff is allocated a HESA Identification Number.

Human Resources are responsible for ensuring data relating to staff is returned every September. Members of staff who join the College from another UK University will need to ensure that they ask their previous employer to give them their HESA ID Number – this number should be passed to Human Resources (see below for details of who to contact).

Managers and staff who would like further information relating to HESA can contact the HR Information and Diversity team for guidance.
