The Race Relations Amendment Act (2000) imposed a duty on Higher Education Institutions (HEI’s) to actively promote race equality, and to eliminate unlawful racial discrimination by promoting racial equality and good race relations.

Recommendations suggested that HEI’s proactively promote equal opportunities between people of different racial backgrounds by promoting good practice.

To help achieve this, the College has produced a Race Equality Policy and Action Plan — which has been further developed in the publication of our Single Equality Scheme and Action Plan - details of which can be seen by clicking on the link below.
