Age
On 1 October 2006 the Employment Equality (Age) Regulations Act 2006 came into force. The aim of the regulation was to prevent either direct or indirect discrimination or harassment on grounds of age. Whilst this legislation was likely to benefit primarily older workers, it was also intended to cover workers of all ages and therefore is relevant throughout the employment cycle from recruitment to retirement, whatever the age of the worker involved.
The College is committed to ensuring age equality in the following areas:
- Recruitment
- Promotion/Grading
- Training
- Retirement
