HERA (Job Evaluation/Re-Grading)
| The next HERA panel will meet on the 19 April 2012 to score any re-grading requests. Staff wishing to have a post scored through the College Job Evaluation process are requested to submit relevant documentation to Riaz Teimoori at rteimoori@rvc.ac.uk by Friday 30 March 2012. All documentation must be signed off and approved by the Head of Department before it is submitted for scoring. |
The purpose of job evaluation is to ensure that jobs at the college are appropriately graded, according to the range and complexity of the tasks the post holder is required to undertake. It ensures that our pay scale is applied transparently and fairly, and that our obligations under equality legislation are met.
In common with many other Universities and Colleges (80% nationwide) the scheme used at the RVC for this purpose is Higher Education Role Analysis (HERA).
All new posts are evaluated using HERA. Before submitting an Online Staff Request Form for a new post, please complete a HERA Role Outline Form (New Posts) and submit it to Human Resources in order for it to be evaluated. Please refer to the HERA Role Outline Form Completion Guidelines below.
Roles that require regrading should be made on the basis that the role has changed substantially since the last HERA evaluation. Please complete the HERA Role Outline Form (Regrading) and submit it to Human Resources in order for it to be evaluated.
