Access to BUPA

College staff have the ability to join BUPA at discounted rates. BUPA is a private healthcare provider specialising in giving prompt access to high quality medical care when needed. Please see the following links for further information:

Annual Leave

Annual leave entitlement is dependant on the grade of the job. We offer 25 days annual leave as a minimum, up to a maximum of 30 days (pro-rata for part-time staff). In addition, we offer three College 'closure' days, normally taken at Christmas, as well as recognising the eight UK public holidays. Central London Location

Set in the heart of London, our Camden Campus is the principle location for first and second year veterinary undergraduates, The Beaumont Sainsbury Animal Hospital and parts of the College’s central administration. It boasts a state of the art Learning Social Space (the Lightwell), refurbished research laboratories, an extensive library and an anatomy museum, and is within easy access of the bars, restaurants and theatres of London’s West End as well as London St Pancras International Station. Childcare Vouchers

By joining the childcare voucher scheme (run for the College by Edenred), working parents can save substantial amounts of money on their childcare costs. The scheme is operated by the College on a salary sacrifice basis whereby you can sacrifice an agreed amount each month from your salary in exchange for childcare vouchers, resulting in a saving on your tax and national insurance contributions. There are many nurseries that accept the Childcare vouchers. If you are working in Camden there is Fig Tree day nursery - St Pancras which is part of kidsunlimited it is just 0.09 miles away. Kidsunlimited have earned a reputation as a leader in high quality, progressive childcare. For over twenty five years kidsunlimited have been giving young children boundless opportunities to learn through imagination, creativity and play, while offering parents the peace of mind that comes from knowing their children couldn’t be better cared for. Discounted Gym Rates

The College has managed to secure a reduced membership rate of £37.50 pcm with the University of Hertfordshire Sports Village with no joining fee or contract. Eligibility to COSTCO Membership

College staff have the ability to apply for COSTCO membership at discounted rates. COSTCO is a retail wholesaler (food/clothes/electrical goods) where membership allows the customer to save a significant amount of money when purchasing items in bulk. Final Salary Employer Contributed Pension Scheme

We offer competitive and attractive pensions packages in the form of two excellent final salary pension schemes which give a pension linked to length of pensionable service and salary on retirement.

The schemes are the Superannuation Arrangements for the University of London (SAUL) and Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS). Participation in the schemes depends on the grade of the job.

Both pension schemes offer competitive benefits including immediate life cover and early ill-health retirement, subject to eligibility.

College staff have access to a free and confidential 24 hour counselling service.

Free Mini-bus Service

College staff travelling between our Camden Campus and our Hawkshead Campus have access to our minibus service between Potters Bar station and the Hawkshead Campus. On-site Car Parking at our Hawkshead Campus

College staff employed at our Hawkshead Campus can make use of on-site car parking.

On-site Sports Facilities at our Hawkshead Campus

College staff based at both campuses can make use of our excellent sports facilities. At our Hakshead Campus there are tennis courts and football/rugby/cricket fields and an opportunity to join a choice of local gyms at a discounted price exclusive to the College. There is also an on-site gym at the Camden Campus.

Pleasant Working Environment

Season Ticket Loan for Rail Tickets

An interest free season ticket loan is available to all staff joining the College. This is dependent on the length of the contract and service. Please visit the the Finance Department Intranet page for further information.

College staff can make use of the staff refectory at each of our campuses, which offer a range of hot and cold food throughout the day.
