Horse Microchips
In July 2009 new Defra regulations come into force which will require all foals born after 1st July 2009 to be microchipped and to possess a passport.
This must be done by the end of the year of their birth or within 6 months of birth, whichever is later.
The regulations also require all adult horses that have not had passport issued before 30th June 2009 to be microchipped and have a passport obtained for them.
If you live in the Hertfordshire, South Essex, South Buckinghamshire or North London areas the RVC Equine Practice offer a microchipping service at a cost of £18.07 per horse.
