Welcome to RVC Enterprise

RVC Enterprise works closely with RVC scientists and clinicians to identify, protect, develop and commercialise innovative intellectual property.  It also actively engages with business and industry to facilitate access to RVC expertise, collaborative opportunities and novel technologies.

Successful technology transfer depends on building networks, partnerships and working relationships.  Consequently I hope your visit to this website today will be the start of a long-lasting and productive relationship with Europe’s largest school of veterinary medicine: an organisation that aspires to be amongst the most enterprising and innovative research-intensive universities in the world.

Since its inception in 1791, the RVC has worked closely with business to ensure that its world-class scientific and clinical research is applied to improve veterinary and human health and welfare.  For instance, in the late 1800s, John McFadyean a professor of pathology, commercially produced proteins for the treatment of tuberculosis.  Today this tradition is maintained: the building named in McFadyean’s honour houses the London BioScience Innovation Centre (LBIC) which is owned and managed by RVC.  LBIC provides a support infrastructure to emerging biotechnology companies to facilitate the breakthrough healthcare innovations of tomorrow.

RVC Enterprise is a leading stakeholder in many inter-institutional, interdisciplinary and international technology transfer initiatives which promote the development of ground-breaking veterinary and human health products and services.  The College also has a number of established and effective strategic interactions with global pharmaceutical companies.

Furthermore RVC Enterprise is supporting the development of business skills in the next generation of scientists and clinicians by providing a programme of enterprise education both across the College and to the wider bioscience community.

We look forward to working with you in the future to help your organisation to harness the RVC’s expertise and resources.
