Enterprise Education at the RVC
Veterinary sector scientists and clinicians need the skills, knowledge and attributes to apply their technical expertise to the commercial world. Enterprising mindsets and skills will, when placed within an ethical framework and alongside scientific and clinical understanding, maximise beneficial healthcare outputs and support RVC graduates in future leadership roles.
RVC is building an integrated programme of business and enterprise skills training across all of its undergraduate and postgraduate science, technology and healthcare degree programmes.
In partnership with leading practitioners in fields such as veterinary practice management, intellectual property, business strategy, finance and drug discovery RVC aims to develop students’ interest, and subsequently key competencies, in workplace-relevant business skills.
RVC enterprise educators play an active role in national and international organisations which promote enterprise education and research such as Enterprise Educators UK, ISBE and USASBE. A bioscience and veterinary enterprise research agenda is also being developed in collaboration with leading business schools.
