About the CPD Unit

Why choose CPD courses at the RVC?

The Royal Veterinary College's Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Unit is the UK's largest academic provider of educational services to the veterinary community. The RVC is well placed to integrate theoretical instruction with hands on practical experience of new techniques and offers state of the art teaching facilities. The CPD programme utilises these facilities, designed to bring out the best in modern teaching methods. CPD Brochure - front coverThe RVC excels in practical and 'hands on' CPD courses for veterinarians in practice. Courses are taught by internationally recognised clinical specialists and veterinary educators. The depth and breadth of the clinical expertise at the Royal Veterinary College is unrivalled in Europe and our lecturers bring to CPD not only this expertise but their passion for teaching and learning.

The courses offered range from seminars, lectures, interactive case based discussions, practical hands on sessions (using our unique Clinical Skills Centre) and courses based entirely on-line (e-CPD).

Most courses are held in the Eclipse Building and/or the Clinical Skills Centre at the Royal Veterinary College Hawkshead campus at North Mymms, Hertfordshire; conveniently located near the junction of the A1(M) and M25 motorways, and approximately 40 minutes drive from Luton and Stansted airports. The nearest train station is Potters Bar train station and transport is available via a free RVC minibus (Monday-Friday) or a 5 minute taxi ride. Reasonably priced accommodation is available near the campus. Free parking is available on campus for registered CPD delegates. Full catering is provided for all courses as well as comprehensive course notes.
