range of animal related topics. Set up by the University of Florida’s Institute
of Food and Agricultural Sciences, EDIS (Extension Digital Information Source)
covers topics such as production agriculture, veterinary medicine, animal science,
fisheries and aquatic sciences and wildlife resources.

A very useful website, designed with both the veterinarian and the pet owner
in mind. This site is a continually evolving index of helpful Net resources.
Compiled by Janet Crosby (a small animal veterinarian) and clearly organised
by category, the site offers particularly good links to online learning resources
such as Cyberpet Veterinary Hospital Waiting Room (an entertaining site specifically
designed to develop the diagnostic skills of veterinary students).

It has recently come under the control of the AVMA. The site lists veterinary

An excellent service from Cornell University. Type in the symptoms and species
to retrieve possible diagnoses. Includes a detailed description of the condition
and recent references to the condition, also gives web references for a linked
search of Medline.

A general science website with handy links to related news information previously
posted by the BBC. A good way to keep up to date with current affairs in the
