AVMA Accreditation

The Royal Veterinary College is accredited by the Council on Education of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA). The College has Full Accreditation; this status was confirmed following the College’s most recent AVMA site visit in November 2005. The next site visit will take place in October 2012.

In order to practice Veterinary Medicine in North America, graduates of accredited programmes must have passed the North American Veterinary Licensing Examination (NAVLE). In 2010/2011, the most recent year for which figures are available, 47 students out of a final year class of 217 took the NAVLE, and of these, 44 passed.
